On Microsoft licenses
Context
The ICAI has negotiated with Microsoft Authorised Reseller on behalf of the Student and Member Community (currently undergoing Training & CPE Programmes) at large, facilitate discounted prices for genuine Microsoft licenses for Office 2010, Windows 7 Upgrade, Core CALs.
Key Objectives
The key objectives of this activity are to facilitate the members /students and to ensure that members are benefitted by a discounted price for the Genuine Microsoft Software including both the latest version of the Operating System and the Microsoft Office Professional Edition Software.
Salient feature of the offer
- The Software will be provided in 32 bits mode only (64 Bits software’s will not be provided)
- Microsoft office gets automatically installed along with Win 7 OS upgrade installation.
- Licenses will be sent by post after one MONTH of closure of this special offer opened to subscribe Microsoft Student Option License, therefore please allow sufficient time for dispatch\distribution.
- While installing the software the OS will format all the existing Partitions.
- The aforesaid cost does not include any type of support from ICAI or from Microsoft or its channel partner. For any technical support and issues of installation subscribers can approach to the local service providers and may take the support from them on basis of an hourly payment.

Windows 7 Enterprise upgrade has the following features which are not available in Windows 7 Professional:

- Office 2010 Professional Plus
- Office Professional Plus 2010 enables Web-based collaboration, allowing multiple people to edit Excel spreadsheets, build reports or documents in Word, and annotate OneNote notebooks in real time. They can conduct brainstorm sessions, update data, and create compelling presentations without needing to be in the same room.
- Office Professional Plus 2010 gives a user faster and easier ways to manage his/her e-mail with new conversation management tools that can remove duplicate information and act like a “mute button” for your inbox.
- Office Professional Plus 2010 helps a user save time and money by providing one-click communication through unified communications technology, and real-time document sharing from within Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, without the need to switch applications
- The Trusted Documents and Protected View feature of Office Professional Plus 2010 combine to provide better security for malicious e-mail attachments and files, while simultaneously allowing quick document viewing.
- With Office Professional Plus 2010, a user can use Backstage, Web Apps, and SharePoint Workspace to connect with important business information and services, online and offline, without users having to leave their familiar Microsoft Office environment.
- The Accessibility checker scans documents for issues that will impact users with disabilities, and helps eliminates errors before they can cause harm to the business. Retention Policy is an archiving and retention tool that is more flexible to users’ workflow with capabilities such as item-level retention, user-created file application, and exception handling. These are examples of new Office Professional Plus 2010 tools and features that improve an organization’s ability to maintain compliance in a world of increasing information management demands.
- Core CALs(Windows server, Exchange Std, SharePoint Std ASCCM CALs)
Client Access License enables a user to connect devices or user accounts to Microsoft Servers. CAL suites combine the most popular CALs like Windows server standard, Exchange Server standard, SharePoint server standard, System Center Configuration manager.

- How much is the amount to be paid to procure a license?
Purchaser has to pay an amount of INR. 3152/-.
- Can I use any internet browser to make the transaction?
Please use Internet Explorer browser only to make a transaction. No other browser is supported as of now.
- What are the steps to procure a license?
A purchaser has to initially register himself/herself with PCBonanza.com in order to procure the license. To do so, do the following steps:
Step 1: Access the link https://www.icai.org/parivartan/offer/student_suite.html and scroll to the bottom of the page, click onto the link “Proceed” at the extreme bottom. This would redirect the user to PCBonanza site with the page as displayed in the Figure 1. Please enter the quantity “Qty” in the Figure 1 and click on “Buy Now” button.

Step 2: On the next page, click “Pay Now” to proceed as shown in Figure 2.

Step 3: The next page is a form which would ask the purchaser to enter relevant information. Fill up all the details in the form shown in the Figure 3 and check the ”I Agree to the pcbonanza.com Term & conditions.” Before clicking on “Submit” button, please ensure that all the details are filled accurately.

NOTE: While filling up the form, please cross check the EMAIL ID that has been mentioned on the form, as all further communications would be sent on this e-mail id ONLY.

Step 4: A summary page with all the details entered above would be displayed. summary comes up as shown above. Check the “I Agree to the pcbonanza.com Term & conditions.” as shown in Figure 4. In case any changes are required to be made, click on “Reset” button to fill up the details afresh. As soon as the purchaser clicks on “I Agree to the pcbonanza.com Term & conditions”, a mail will be sent to the email id confirming purchaser’s registration with PCBonanza.com.
The purchaser is advised to check his/her mail box for such a mail before proceeding further. In case no such mail is received, the purchaser needs to re-register himself/herself through the sign-up form.

Step 5: The next screen would take the user to the payment options.
- To pay by credit card, click “Pay by Credit card” which will take to a payment gateway of HDFC bank. The relevant details of the MASTER/VISA credit card are to be given along with other required inputs to place the order.
- The Payment through DD is to be made in favor of “IT Solutions India Pvt. Ltd. Payable at Delhi” and has to be couriered along with the filled-up and signed Student Consent letter and the Photo Copy of the Registration Letter/Admit Card (For Students)/Membership Proof(for Members) issued by ICAI to the following address:

- Who all are eligible for this offer?
Any STUDENT registered with ICAI for CPT/IPCC/Final course or any MEMBER undergoing learning under Continuous Professional Education Committee (CPE) is eligible for this offer.
5. Does a purchaser need to pay an annual fee or a onetime fee?
In order to procure a license, a purchaser needs to pay annual subscriptttion fee. All licenses are eligible for free support for one year. Thereafter, to get any upgraded version, a renewal fee is to be paid. However, security patches will be provided free of cost.
6. Will these be a lifetime?
License would become perpetual after completion of course.
8. What will be the mode of procuring the license that the purchaser has paid for?
After successful registration on PCBonanza.com, an automatic mail would land after a few days at the email ID given by the purchaser at the time of filling up the online form. The email would contain the username/password and also the link to download the suite.
9. Can a duplicate copy of the licenses be made: Can they be written to a DVD or any writable media: Can my username/password work for more than one machine?
No, the media can be downloaded once and can be re-used for multiple license keys. The media can be copied to or written to a DVD. User-name and passwords are specific to one license only,media can be downloaded once and the media in DVD will be couriered by I.T. Solution and200 are towards handling charges for the same.
10. What are the modes of payments for this offer?
A person can pay through any Master/VISA credit card or pay through a DD. For further details, please refer to the complete process of purchasing the license given under point 3.
11. How does a purchaser buy if he/she does not have an old licensed OS (like window XP, Windows 2000, Windows Vista)?

12. What do I do if I get an error when I make payments online?
Please cross-check if all the fields like address etc. do not contain special characters or spaces. Resubmit the online form without any special characters in any of the fields.
