there are 2 types of defination to any business activity --- they are the Production Defination and the Marketing Defination....
eg.
PD.. we make cosmetics MD.... we sell hope
PD... we make shoes MD... we provide comfort to the feet
PD...we construct home MD... we provide comfort and security
and it goes on......

Weakness of Godrej.
1. Lack of proper product Mix::- Like the said company produced over sized refrigerator.
2.Lack of adequate planning for village(Customer focus) area customers.

Why do go company go global?

1.Demand of product in Foreign
2. Lack of demand in domestic market.
3. For obtaining low cost of production
4.Gaining natural raw meteria as petroliam co. go in arab countries.
5. Increasing privatisation- To get more and more profits.
6. Govt. liberalised policy
7. Fast transportation and communication.-Airlines and Internet. etc.
