How and whom to pay the tax liability.

Hi Members,

My question is simple but unfortunately I was not able to find the answers in ITR instructions.

I am filling up ITR-2 to file my taxes for FY 2009-2010. After all the calculation I have to pay a certain amount of Tax which was not included in my TDS.

My Question : What are the accepted mode of payments ? In case of cheques, in whose favor it needs to be drawn to ? Also, do I have to furnish the payment along with physical returns ? If someone know the official link giving the details, it would be really helpful.

Regards,

Gaurav.

Amount payable after considering tds and advance tds is to be deposited with bank in Form 280 as self assessment tax.

It may be depsoited by manually as well as electronically.

After depsoiting self assessment tax, you will have a challan regarding depsoit of tax liablity, which you have to mentioned in self assessment tax column in sheet name AIT-TI , schedule IT.

Thanks Mr. Bansal.

When you say Electronically , are you referring to e-tax payment via NSDL website ?

Can an Individual pay advance tax of Rs. 10 Lakh through Challan?
