You should prepare for misc from dinesh madan sir notes. its sufficient. you should read only information technology act from study material. because in dinesh madan sir notes it is very brief.

DINESH SIR NOTES IS SUFFICIENT.............IT'S A BEST BOOK COVERING ALL RELEVANT TOPICS,,,,,,,,
REST U MUST REFER ICAI MICS COMPILER OR SOLVED SCANNER ALSO..........IT'S MORE THAN ENOUGH TO PREPARE MICS.....

According to me DM book/nots are enough....But it is very imp to refer Study material from time to time to check the coverage of topic.
So use study material as a base for topics and prepare from Dinesh Madaan book. Also refer scanner along with ICAI suggested answers.

Personally I would recommend the ICAI module it is too god.
Plus what i believe is that PADHUKA is a digest. and at CA FINAL level its not a great deal to refer to a digest.
DINESH MADAN is bad....that is my opinion and lot of people who have cleared their exams
An author called GARG is good....

Hi Tanya,
I have appeared for May 2010 exams and prepared MICS only from the institute study material and believe me only study material is best among all other authors for exam point of veiw.
I would suggest you to go through the study material with each an every aspect of it and please don't refer any other author's book as it will create a mess for you.
What our institute requires for MICS is only the study material answers and not anything else and that's the reason why peple don't get good marks in this subject.
Along with the study material, you can also refer the institutes compilation on MICS and you can also take revisionary classes conducted by the institute, because there is a Sir named Mr. S.K Monga who teaches this subject in these classes and he can guide you the way to prepare study material as its language is bit technical. But I am not sure from where you are as I have attended institute classes in Delhi for the last attempt and it was very fruitfull for me for MICS.
Let me know for any further information.
Regards,
Karan

I think Chadra said well. In my opinion, JUST GO THRO RTP. whoever is there setting MICS are very very old people. They look computers as if it is some kind of a nuclear bomb. THEY DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT COMPUTERS AND TECHNOLOGY. They will just repeat whatever questions they have asked in past. so dont worry. just stick to material and RTP. dont ignore RTP
