A question on the subject SFM from one of our forum members:

Question 1: Relationship between growth , EPS, ROE and ROA

G=Retained Earnings / total Equity

G= [(1- Payout ratio) * Earnings] / Total Equity

G= (1- Payout ratio) (Earnings] / Total Equity)

G=(1 - Payout Ratio) * ROE

EPS= (BV/Share) * ROE ------------------------- (1)

ROE= ROA * Leverage (Total Assets by equity)--------------------- (2)

ROA = Net Income margin * Asset turnover ------------------------(3)

Apply (3) and (2)

Sustainable Growth rate = (1 - Payout Ratio) * Net Income margin * Asset Turnover * Leverage

A Question on corporate law by Vijay narendra:

1)In sec-215 with reference to signing of return what r da possible combination??

The balance sheet and the profit and loss account of a company must be signed on behalf of the BOD by the secretary or manager,if any by two directors of the company, one of whom shall be a managing director.

2)Whether M.D & Manager both can be there in the same company at the same time????

A company cannot at the same time employ a MD and a manager(Sec 197A). However, a company can employ a manager and WTD.

In that case if it is signed by only two directors than is it a  sufficient complaince of sec-215

It is sufficient if signed by 2 directors. Please refer compilation of law. There is a specific question in chapter 3 regarding the signing of accounts
