You have been suggested good teachers for all subjects except for Direct Taxes. Girish Ahuja Sir's book is very good, but if you are asking for coaching then I would suggest you to go to Vinod Gupta Classes. And dont consider for any other teacher except Gupta Ji or Ahuja Sir. Now coming back to your query, In my opinion, you should first complete your classes for Accounts and MAFA and then Costing. DT and IDT should be kept for last as these two subjects gets amendments every year. You just start study these two subject by self study and go for coaching in last 7-8 months. Till then you should complete your othewr theory papers also.

Pls remember that these teachers are very famous and registration is done 6 months or one year in priority. So decide your schedule as soon as possible and get yourself registered otherwise you may have to compromise with the teachers.

For any other help reagarding this, you can write to me.

All the best.

Hi buddy... am also pursuing ca final and my attempt is due in may 2010. A small advice.  I cleared my CS thru self study.  I decided to apply the same to CA and i found it very useful rather than sitting in classes among bunches of students with no individual attention.  So better try to study urself.  You still have almost 1.5 yrs time. Go thru the books, gather the chapters u don understand and go for classes only for the subject(s) you don understand.  SELF STUDY IS THE BEST STUDY.  Buy good books

For DT i would straight away hint at TN Manoharan.  The conceptual clarity is superb in this than any other book.  FOR IDT my choice wud be K.Vaitheeswaran; simple, lucid, crisp, no unwanted circular nos and cases.  watever is reqd for a student is given in dat.  it is more than enough..Many will not prescribe this and would suggest bangar.  No doubt the latter is good book but first u hav to understand subject very easily

For MAFA concept-wise go for Vashist-Saxena or V.Pattabhiram-SD Bala.  For problems go for AN Sridhar...sufficient if u follow any one;  But remember in mind that ur aim shd be to score 50 to 60 u ll end up scoring around the same or above.  You d hav learnt thru ur pe2 / pcc experience.  This is my formula; Might sound little rigid but dats the way to go....above all have sufficient sleep and food. not less than 8 hrs sleep is reqd each day else the whole day is like a trash...take care

thank u every1 fr ur suggestions..

mr. tarun i wuld lyk to knw that hv u dne dt and idt on ur own or it bcme impt to join the coaching fr these subjects also ??

Dear Avi, I have done DT and IDT at my own. But yes, I took classes of ICAI. And it was my good luck that at that time Girish Ahuja Sir was faculty of DT for ICAI. So it gave me a better confidence in DT. Although his classes were very few. I read from his book only. For IDT also, I read from Ajay Jain Notes. I was taught basics of IDT by one of my friend, who was taking classes from Ajay Jain, and then I prepared it by self study. I scored 55 plus marks in DT and exemption marks in IDT. I think these were satisfactory for me. So, I dont think its compulsory to go for coaching, if you have a good environment for study and having a good friend circle with whom you can share your doubts. If you are from Delhi, then I will suggest you to join ICAI classes alongwith the self study, and make a good friend circle of 3-4 friends in CA final.

You have sufficient time for study. If you are from Delhi then I will suggest you to go for Liabrary of ICAI for self study. It have a very good environment for study. Discussion with friends is the most important step for self study. I took classes for MAFA only in final, and rest study was done by my own.

There are certain other techiniques of preparing Taxation papers and presentation in exams. I have written an article on it.
