Health Supplements Interstate tax % for retail Sales from Tamilnadu

Hi Guys,

I own a startup and about to go -live with my e-commerce website for selling Health/Food supplements in online retail. I do an interstate purchase using C-form. My query is when I resell the products in retail, what is the % of tax to be levied in my invoice to customer(ofcourse with out c-form).

I need the % of tax to be included for both intra state and inter-state retail sales. My company is registered and operating from Tamilnadu.

Since the goods are sold without C FORM , the rate applicable would be the rate had the goods been sold within the state . This rate would be applicable for both inter state as well as intra state sale transaction . The rate applicable would depend upon the type of product and its schedule entry .

Hi Harshal, Thanks for your reply, Type of products that I Deal with is "health/nutritional supplements". If you know under which tax slab this comes please can you tell me that?

Tax Rate would be the same for both intra state & inter state sale if selling without any Statutory form.....

for exact rate please check VAT Schedule,

In that case please can you get me a link for VAT SCHEDULE.. Also from other online materials that I read, it said the intra state would be 12.5/14.5& and the interstate retail sales will include 5% only. But I could not verify the genunity of that message like I do in this experts forum. Please guide me on this information..

Hi Harshal, I checked the link "commodity schedule with code" and the only relevant entry pertaining to my business is as below, (in page 35) "Branded ready mix food products (in the form of flour, powder, wet dough)" commodity code -840 And this comes under 5% category. So this mean either be it interstate or intrastate its flat 5% Vat?
