Have faith in yourself and above all have faith in god

Life is a journey full of challenges. The frequency, intensity and quantum of challenges faced by people may differ. But nobody can escape challenges posed by life.

If challenges are the reality we cannot avoid, then the only option is to face challenges in life with a positive attitude and find ways to overcome it at the earliest.

But most of us choose the easy option. We often blame God for all our miseries in life. Whenever we are in trouble, the first question we ask God is “Why me”. All the while when we are enjoying all the good things in life, the thought never strikes us “why me”. But the moment we are in crisis, the question crops up “Why me”.

We need to change our perception. We need to change our attitude.

Accepting challenges as a part of life and turning challenges into experiences which become a stepping stone towards success is the trait that differentiates a successful and happy person from an ordinary person.

Have faith in yourself

The dictionary meaning of faith is “Complete trust or confidence in someone or something”.

“Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy “  by Norman Vincent Peale

Faith in self is extremely important. Unless we have the Will Power and Self Confidence, we cannot overcome challenges in life. How can we expect others to help us out in our battle of life unless we have the urge and fire to come out of unfavourable circumstances?

However most of the times, we are lacking faith in ourselves. It is not that we are inferior or we are lacking in the skill sets. We underestimate our capabilities and fear of unknown and fear of failure stops us from taking action.

And the result is that we lose the battle even before it starts. And the worst part is that we not only failed but all such incidents casts a shadow of Self-doubt and lack of faith in ourselves which ultimately stops us from achieving our true potential in life.

If this has been your own story, don’t get disheartened any more. Let me tell you story of my two years old son, how he gets what he wants in life. You see it happening in your homes too but never give it a thought.

When he wants to have choco-pie, he will ask for it from who so ever comes in front of him. He will go to his grand-father and if he refuses, then to the Grand-mother, then to the sister, mother, father, maid and it goes on. In all this chain, somebody or the other, either out of love or at times for owns peace ultimately gives him what he wants, the choco-pie.

This two year old kid knows that he is not tall enough to reach the spot in kitchen where choco-pies are kept. But this does not stop him from aiming for his goal. So many people refuse to help him out. But he does not get disheartened. There are days when he gets it in five minutes and there are days when it may take two hours to succeed. But he will carry on. There are days when nobody will offer him choco-pie the whole day. But this will also not deter him from trying again the next day.

If he is not ready to lose faith in self, why have we lost faith in ourselves, just because we have grown up and seen so many failures in life?

We all had as two year kids done the same thing to get choco-pies. Somehow we have forgotten our true potential.

Have faith in God

“You cannot believe in God until you believe in yourself” by Swami Vivekanand

Always have faith in God. He will never let you down. It’s a pity that we have not only lost faith in ourselves but have also lost faith in God.

“When God pushes you to the edge of difficulty, trust him fully because two things can happen. Either he’ll catch you when you fall, or he will teach you how to fly.” – Unknown

Throwing challenges at us is God’s way of grooming us in life. He wants us to learn from experiences and grow in life. He plays the role of parents in our life. There are times when our parents throw their full weight behind us to give us confidence so that we learn new lessons of life. Similarly there are times, when our parents watch us from a distance, letting us fight on our own. The purpose is to make us strong and independent in life. Still they are looking for our betterment but are helping us in a different way. God plays the same tricks with us.

“God will never leave you empty. He will replace everything you lost. If he asks you to put something down, it’s because he wants you to pick up something greater.” - Unknown

I have myself experienced that on many occasions in life, when i was faced with extremely unfavourable circumstances and despite my best efforts, there seemed to be no hope of coming out of them, in those times i left it to God completely reposing full faith in him. These were the times, when my mind could think of no possible solutions, complete deadlock. And then all of a sudden crops a solution or new doors of hope opens, which as a human being my mind could have never imagined.

I urge you all to never lose faith in yourself and above all never lose faith in God.
