A demat account is a mandatory requirement if you wish to participate in share market dealings. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) introduced dematerialisation of physical security certificates to overcome the problems of forgery, misplacement and other human errors. Many Depository Participants like Share India, Kotak Securities, Motilal Oswal provide open free demat account online. reputed brokers like Dhanush offer complete online account opening facilities on their website. All you have to do is to visit their website and follow some simple steps. Here’s how you can do it.
Go to the website and move to “demat account” section. Then, click on ``open account”.
A page will open which shall contain the account opening form. Fill it carefully. Provide the required details. Mention your name, date of birth, address, mobile number, email id, pan and bank account number.
Scan and upload the documents for verification. You can use aadhaar, voter id, passport, driving license etc.
Now, click on generate OTP(One time password). Enter the respective OTPs sent to your email and phone number.
After successful verification, you shall get your login credentials via mail and SMS. Login to your demat account using the same.
