You know why Chartered Accountants are not ordinary?
Suppose you decide to be a CA with 99 other students.
Average pass percentage of CPT is 25%.
Out of 100 only 25 students including you pass to appear for next level.
Average pass percentage of IPCC is 8%.
Out of 25 only 2 students including you pass to appear for final level.
Average pass percentage of FINAL is 5%
Out of 2 only 0.1 students pass to be CA.
But CAs are never overrated like IITians, IIMites and Civil officials because their expertise and skill are regulated strictly by Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
As of April 2016 -
Their are 2,47,900 CAs.
30,000 CAs have settled abroad.
1,28,400 CAs are in job and 1,19,500 CAs are in practice worldwide.
Number of CA students is around 10,00,000.
(all data is approximate as ICAI never publishes official data).
Every year around 8,000 new CAs qualify.
How many of them do you know? A few? That is why they are not overrated yet extra ordinary.
Their hardwork and perseverance is commendable.
May this 67th CA day bring luck to all those who aspire to use the word CA before their names.
