It depends upon the condition that:
You have already raised the complaint within proper time with raising of token from GST Portal /through mail/physical complaint to department concerned.
If you have not raised any complaint or raised token, then you are not eligible for waiver of the same.
Even though you may consult with the concerned department.

@ Bharath- if u were regularly purchasing and selling then u shld have filed return on time. Dept doesn't diffrentiate btween middle class traders and other trades.. For helping traders like you, gvt has setup Gst suvidha kendra where u can go n take help if u are unable to understand the filing procedure. If not them, then there are no. of professionals to help u out. To b honest, in cases like yours dept doesn't give waiver, however, u can still reach them and if u are lucky enuf, they might spare u from huge penalty

Dear Mr Bharath Jain.,
As per my view., No way for short out the late fee by any officers. It's totally online mode...
Better to file early. It's better for the late fee is raised on.

No Exemption, but you can file nil rate return for lower late fees-50 per day to Rs. 20 per day, but if you have raised B2B invoice you can't doo so
