one my client mistakenly opted for monthly basis as his turnover is below 1.5 can u plz help me in this regard.

There is no need to worry about it. Since reality is that, you can not change it because there is no such option available. But yes if u are liable for Qtrly and you have mistakenly opted for Monthly then it's fine there will be no issues. You can change in 2018-19

Accidentally chose monthly for quarterly eligible returns. Will I be penalized if not filed monthly till March?

No way. This is just an assumption based selection that you think your t/o will or will not exceed 1.5cr. So incase your T/o exceeds and u have opted for Qtrly then too it's fine. Please note that this can be changed only from April 18. At that time u have to be sure.
