turnover crosses 40 lacks and working as a commission agent...is it compulsory to take gst number ??

Yes it is compulsory. It was already compulsory when your commission turnover crossed 20 lakhs

Yes in term of Section 22 of CGST Act , you are liable to obtain Registration if your aggregate turnover exceeds 20 lacs

For Agents compulsary registration as per section 24(vii) of the CGST act 2017 , if they fall in the definition of Agent as per section 2(5) of the CGST act 2017
