is it possible to pay the GST for the month of April and May now along with late fee. . since GSTR 3B is closed.. what's the way out?

yes, why not. have you filed the return. if not you can file those returns otherwise you can add those figures in subsequent month. and if you are trying to ask for 2.0 there will be the transition system for it.

if you have already filed the returns then you have to pay interest for such liability when you add to the subsequent month GSTR3B outstanding liability.
If you haven't filed the returns then you will face late fees as an addition.

yes you also have to pay interest on the liability @ 18% p.a.
