gst on renting of immovable property

Sir,
I am running a small business and also have a rented building which falls under service tax provision.
I have gst registration. Do I need to take separate registration for rented building?
Please reply ASAP.
Thanks and Regards
Abi.

No need of separate registration for rental income under GST, if the building is in same state...... where you are registered.

Now the service tax liability got transferred to GST liability.

So, charge 18% GST over non-residential rental income and pay to government. For residential rental it is nil rate......

Sir, can I pay the tax amount through ACES or through gst site? The service tax payment before gst implementation was through ACES.

The payment processes under GST Act will be direct online through GST portal itself. i.e.

Electronically generated challan from GSTN Common Portal in all modes of payment and no use of manually prepared challan;

• Facilitation for the tax payer by providing hassle free, anytime, anywhere mode of payment of tax;

• Convenience of making payment online;

• Logical tax collection data in electronic format;

There will be real time two-way linkage between the GSTN and the Core Banking Solution (CBS) of the Bank. CPIN is automatically routed to the Bank via electronic string for verification and receiving payment and a challan identification number (CIN) is automatically sent by the Bank to the Common Portal confirming payment receipt. No manual intervention will be involved in the process by any one including bank cashier or teller or the tax payer.
