gst on rent

If an individual has obtained gst registration for the business and he is receiving rental income even... then is he required to pay gst on rent?

if that property let out for residential purpose then there will not liablity of GST but if the same has been given for business purpose then it will come under ambit of collection of GST and pay the same.

then GST will be applicable @ 18%

I agree with rahul prashad and you have to charge GST on rental income if you do not charge then the department may recover it from by assuming rent is inclusive of GST.
