Gst on non precious metal bangles

Please can NE one throw light on what Gst rates have been decided on bangles made from non precious metals like iron, aluminum, brass. Our products were vat exempted. But after Gst there is no clarity.

All bangles are exempted from gst also and if you made bangles out of gold or any precious metals the tax rate is 3

Thank you for the reply sir, but as per HSN code our product ie metal bangles (71171910) falls under chapter 71. This chapter implies a Gst of 3%.while the other chapter ie chapter 70 HSN code 7018 says that all bangles except those made from precious metal are exempted.so this is creating a lot of confusion for us. Can you please solve this issue. Thank you.

Dear Manish

GST Rate Chapter 39 say plastic bangles

GST Rate Chapter 70 say Glass Bangles ( other than not precious metal )

GST Rate Chapter 71 say imitation jewellery taxable under 3% gst ( See Bangles HSN Code 71171910 )

GST Chapter 39 means to say only plastic bangles are zero rated. GST rate chapter 70 say glass bangles are zero rated and if any work of base metals are free ( other than precious metal ) but consusion create when bangles base is plastic bangles and work on base metal ( from brass, iron or other unprecious metal ) then it became imitation jewellery ..

Please clerify if you have sure answer..

So does that mean all bangles made from unprecious metals will fall under imitation jewellery category and will imply 3%Gst. If yes that what is difference between precious n unprecious metal when they are both under the same Gst tax slab.

We at, Tajmahal Bangle exhibit fashionable bangles. We have multiple outlets in sadar bazaar, Delhi who cater wholesaling as well as retailing. We have a huge variety of metal bangles, acrylic bangles, lac bangles as well as churas and kalerein. All non- precious metal bangles will fall under imitation jewellery category and will imply 3%GST
