If you receive an advance from customer then do you have to pay GST on the advance amount or as and when billing is done to the customer ?

If it is an advance for Service,you have to pay GST.
If it is an advance for goods,pay GST while raising Invoice

GST on Advance against goods is exempt vide Notification no 66/2017 dt 15/11/2017 form 15/11/2017
