Does a gst practitioner need gst number, if he have GSTP Id issued by government.

If your aggregate taxable turnover exceed Rs.20 lacs then registration is mandatory.

@ gstconsultant I think Its aggregate turnover including exempt and non taxable supply,not only taxable turnover.
if not then refer provision please

. A business whose aggregate turnover in a financial year exceeds Rs 20 lakhs has to mandatorily register under Goods and Services Tax. This limit is set at Rs 10 lakhs for North Eastern and hilly states flagged as special category states. Also, the definition of taxable turnover has been changed to aggregate turnover.

Or
If you wish to take on voluntarily basis even below Rs 20lacs, you can take GST registration.
