Gst amount mistakenly paid as penalty

Dear All

I have mistekenly paid the GST amount of Rs. 120000 in the penalty column n submitted the application.

Do I need to apply for refund or the amount wil get adjusted against my GST liability?

or Do i need to pay GST again n apply for refund amount separately?

Also what is the procedure to apply for refund?
