GST Amendment in portal
Can an assessee edit through amendment in the address field ( city name was wrongly mentined) which was already approved by the GST department?

No you Can not amend Core field directly, you need to apply in form GST REG-14 on GSTN portal, after approval from proper officer amended will take place.
