I cleared MY CA final in May 2008. I have completed my articles but Not the GMCS course. I wont even be able to attend GMCS before sept 2008.Can i postpone my placementsin Sept 2008 and participate for placements in Feb 2009.

Nope, this placements if for the candidates who pass their exams during that attempt, it does not say anything about GMCS or qualifying.
So, please contact ICAI centre.
completing gmcs is also required to be eligible for campus interview
