Just to add to it, there is an option in gmail called "Last account activity"

Clicking the Details link next to the Last account activity line at the bottom of any Gmail page shows information about recent activity in your mail.

Recent activity includes any time that your mail was accessed, using a regular web browser, through a POP client, from a mobile device, etc. Gmail lists the IP address from which the access was made, the associated location, as well as the time and date.

At times it is not easy. Most of the experts will suggest you to not to make passwords with your date of birth, mobile no., scooter/car no. and to make it very difficult for others to guess. 

But you have to be careful that you yourself doesn't forgot the password. I have seen many people who themselves forgot their email id passwords.

I have been using my sify id from past 10 years, but from 10 days or so I am not able to open my id. They are showing my user name and password as invalid. I have also written email to sify administrators but just with the auto generated reply that they will contact me with in 24 hours. Its now more than 10 days!

Any one please help me.
