gift received from relative of cash or any kind is not taxable

Problem is MAMA is relative of assessee as per IT act (section 56 \2\ vii) ; but doesn't include MAMI  !!!!!!!

(just for twist)

in that case mamas spouse will also be relative to the assessee .....am right dhirajlal sir? correct me if u am wrong

Dear,  You were correct.......... but I just twisted it for the querier.

Actually, I have seen  many of your posts and  been impressed by your knowledge, conceptual clarity about the subject.......

But from the first (vague) answer, I didn't fill it as impressive as your ability. May be the querier may also not have been satisfied. Hence the Mock Test.........

If you liked it........ thanks.

If it hurt you in any manner, I beg your pardon.........

But I had a suggestion  ...... (May be that may help you for exams......)

Read some posts of our expert CA B Chakrapani Warrier Sir......

If he has to answer the post........ (trying to learn his art..........)

" Any amount of gift of any kind, by proper documentation, from spouse of mother's brother, would be taxfree, as from 'relative' inference sub-clause (d) read alongwith (g), of section 56(2)(vii) of I T Act, 1961."

Finally, once again appreciate your knowledge.......... love you........ thank you.

thank you so much dhirajlal sir......
However Such gift received on the occasion of marriage of the assessee is tax-free

@ Ashwin Kumar: May God Bless You.......... Good Luck.........
