GET READY FOR EXAMS........!!! (TIPS)

CA Parmeshwar Rathi (Internal Auditor) (211 Points)

22 April 2011

(A) THE PREVIOUS DAY OF  EXAM:

1. REFER ONLY SUMMARISED ABSTRACT OF THE SUBJECT. DON’T GET LENTHY AND COMPREHENSIVE STUDY PROGRAMME. IT WOULD BE BETTER, IF YOU REFER YOUR SELF MADE SHORT NOTES.

2. RECALL THE MAJOR POINTS FOR THE THEOERY PAPERS.

3. DON'T GET NERVOUS. LIST OUT THE TOPICS OR THE QUESTIONS, WHICH YOU WANT TO STUDY REPEAT. GIVE A PREPLANNED SHORT TIME TO REVIEW THEM. ALSO PREPARE THE LIST OF THE IMPORTANT POINTS.

4. TAKE LIGHT FOOD.

5. DON'T GO DIRECTLY TO STUDY AFTER FOOD. SPENT 10-15 MINUTS TO GET FRESH. BE CONFIDENT, AS FRESH MIND STUDY IS MORE FRUITFUL.

6. KEEP READY YOU’RE REQUIRED THINGS, LIKE ADMIT CARD, PENS, SCALES, CALCULATERS AND OTHER ARTICLES.

7. DO NOT STUDY TILL LATE NIGHT. TRY TO GO BED EARLY AND ALSO WAKE UP EARLY.

8. NOW IN THE EARLY MORNING, READ ONLY THE NOTES.  JUST SEE THE LIST OF IMPORTANT POINT WHICH YOU MADE YESTERDAY, AND RECALL IT ONLY. DON’T BOTHER ABOUT THE CHAPTERS WHICH YOU FEEL, ARE BEING LEFT (THIS IS ONLY THE MENTAL FEELING. DON’T  BE NERVOUS )

9. TAKE LIGHT BREAKFAST AND TRY TO REACH BEFORE 30 MINUTES AT EXAM. CENTER.

10. DON’T KEEP READING AT THE EXAM CENTER. JUST BE SITTED ALONE AND CONCENTRADE YOUR MIND BY CLOSING YOUR EYES. TAKE THE FEELING THAT YOU KNOWS ALL THE THINGS. BE POSITIVE THEN.

11. DO NOT DISCUSS ABOUT THE SUBJECT/CHAPTERS WITH ANYBODY. THAT WILL SURELY MAKE YOU NERVOUS.

(B) ENTERING THE EXAMINATION HALL

1.     SIT ON YOUR ALLOTTED SEAT. BE FRESH AND RELAX YOUR MIND.

2.    AFTER RECEIVING THE PAPER, DON’T START WRITING IMMEDIATELY. DON’T BOTHER FOR THE OTHER STUDENTS, WHO STARTED WRITING.

3.    OBSERVE THE QUESTION PAPER PEACEFULLY. MARK OUT THE QUESTION, ON WHICH YOU ARE VERY MUCH CONFIDENT. FIX THE ORDER FOR Q. IN YOUR MIND.

4.    NORMALLY YOU ARE TO ATTEMT 6-7 QUESTIONS, AND THE TIME AVAILABLE IS 3 HOURS. SO JUST PLAN FOR ALLOTING THE SPECIFIC TIME TO THE SPECIFIC QUESTIONS. TIME MANAGEMENT IS VERY IMPORTANT EXERCISE, AS IT WOULD PREVENT YOU BY LOOSING ANY QUESTION.

5.    NOW START WRITING. DON’T WRITE UNNECESSASARY COMPREHENSIVELY. JUST TRY TO WRITE TO THE POINT. DOESN’T MATTER  YOUR ANSWER IS ONLY OF 6-7-8 LINES. UNLESS INSTRUCTION OF GIVING 3-4 PAGES ANSERS IN THE Q. PAPER, DON’T TRY TO MAKE YOUR ANSWER LENTHY. IT WOULD CONSUME YOUR TIME UNNESSASARILY.

6.    DON’T BOTHER FOR THE STUDENTS WHO ARE DEMANDING ‘EXTRA ANSWER SHEET’ IN THE HALL. SHORT FACTFUL ANSWER IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN THE VAGUE LENTHY ONE. KEEP THIS IN MIND.

7.    JUST SEE THAT YOUR HANDWRITING IS READABL. TRY TO GIVE YOUR ANSWER IN ‘POINT FORM’. THIS WOULD BE EASY FOR THE FACT UNDERSTANDING AND WOULD LEFT RELAXED IMPRESSION ON THE VALUER’S MIND.

8.    DON’T WASTE TIME IF YOU ARE FORGETING ANY POINT OF ANSWER. JUST LEFT 4-5 LINES BLANK AND START ATTEMPTING ANOTHER QUESTION. IN 70% CASES, IT IS PROVED THAT THE FORGOTTEN POINTS ARE REMEMBERED WHILE WRITING THE ANOTHER QUESTION’S ANSWER. AS AND WHEN IT APPEARS IN YOUR MIND, PLACE IT ON THE BLANK SPACE.

9.    IF POSSIBLE, SPARE LAST 10-15 MINUTES TO RECHECK THE ANSWERS. YOU CAN ADD SOME LINES TO THE ANSWERS, IF YOU FEEL THEM EFFECTIVE THEN.

(C) COMING OUT TO THE EXAM. HALL

1.     COME OUT WITH THE FRESH MIND. DON’T BOTHER AND THINK WHAT YOU HAVE WRITTEN INSIDE THE HALL.

2.    DON’T DISCUSS AGAIN ABOUT THE ANSWERS WITH YOUR FRIENDS. WHATEVER YOU WRITE IS CAN NOT BE CHANGED NOW. DO DON’T FALL IN UNNESSASSARY DISCUSSION.

3.    DON’T EVALUATE THE GIVEN PAPER AT HOME. IT WOULD WASTE YOUR TIME, AND ALSO MAY DECREASE YOUR CONFIDENCE FOR THE NEXT PAPER. DON’T SEE THE BOOKS AGAIN. KEEP THEM ASIDE.

4.    JUST CONCENTRATE ON THE NEXT EXAM, TAKE LIGHT FOOD AND GET START AS PER THE HEADING “A” ABOVE.
