I GUESS ITS SPECULATIVE

Due to its nature, its speculative.

Futures and futures options trading is speculative in Nature and high-risk...!

Speculation :

Speculation involves the buying, holding, and selling of stocks, bonds, commodities, currencies, collectibles, real estate, derivatives or any valuable thing to profit from fluctuations in its price as opposed to buying it for use or for income ( via dividends, interest etc). Speculation or agiotage represents one of three market roles in western financial markets, distinct from hedging and arbitrage.

THANKS EVERYBODY.smiley

Any profit or loss rising from F&O activity will be taxed as business income(non speculative).

Income tax department long ago clarified that any gain or loss from equity derivative is to be taxed as Business Income or may be STCG depend on the volume of the transaction and non speculative.

Last year it further clarified that gain or loss in commodity derivating also not speculative.
