Dear All,

I need your suggestions or advices regarding my CA Final preparation.

My CA Final attempt is due in the month of MAY 2015. And I am starting to get paranoid realizing that I have 1.5 years more for the exam...!!

I got myself registered and received the books in the month of MARCH 2013.

I HADN'T TOUCHED A SINGLE BOOK YET :(

I like theory paper, I prefer them the most because I love English, Hence as an initiation for preparation I would want to start with Law or Auditing..

I am confused as to go for coaching, or self study, as i am planning to take leave for 1 year...!!

I am really scared of accounts...!!

Kindly suggest me what subject should I start with, also kindly suggest me good authors too, as an initiation...!!

Once i realise i am into the subject, i will jump to the ICAI books....!!

Kindly help me..!!

I rly am confused...!!

I want to clear both groups in 1st attempt...

I know i am lazy.... very much...

Kindly suggest the authors n gud reference materials as well

Thanks & regards,

Sanjana

Atleast take classes for Accounts, SFM n AMA... (for sfm u cn go j b gupta dvd lactures) ..for other subj .. Financial Reporting - Dont follow books, if possible -- Only refer class notes of any good teacher, arrange class notes from your friend (atleast for Holding, Amalgamation and Valuation). Better arrange Praveen Sharma Class Notes (For AS ..refer sanjeev singhal/padhuka) . SFM - J B Gupta book with DVD Lactures. . Audit - Padhuka for important and practical topics (For other portion you may refer surbhi bansal) . Law - Munish Bhandari Handbook (Plus Padhuka for detailed study, if you have sufficient time). AMA / Costing - Padhuka (or PC Tulsian if you need detailed book) plus Study Material and Practice Manual (It is better prepare your own notes for theory portion). ISCA - Manish Valechha ISCA Book plus and Practice Manual (The best book ever released for this subject, The book is a short version of study material, covers all, topics.. also includes examples, diagrams, memory codes....) refer Study Material if you have sufficient time but not actually reuired. Use with practice manual only, . Direct Taxes - T.N. Manoharan Plus Summary Module of Vinod Gupta (Prepare notes for lengthy and typical portion, if possible). Indirect Taxes - N S Govindan or rafi for Concepts (Padhuka or Banger for detailed Study and past exam questions

Financial Reporting – Best option is to join class for financial reporting (or arrange class notes of any good teacher near your location - (In my view go for Praveen Sharma Class Notes). (Reference book: P C Tulsian – It should be your second choice if you are unable to arrange any class notes)

AS - Sanjeev Singhal (BEST) / D S Rawat

SFM - J B Gupta book with DVD Lactures (BEST) (Taxmann Publication).

Audit - Padhuka for important and practical topics (For other portion Surbhi Bansal).
SA – D S Rawat

Law - Munish Bhandari Handbook (BEST) - Plus Padhuka for detailed study, if you have sufficient time).

AMA / Costing - j b gupta  (BEST) plus Study Material, Compiler and Practice Manual (It is better to prepare your own notes for theory portion).

ISCA - Manish M Valechha ISCA TextBook (BEST) (Memory Based Edition).... Best book to fetch high marks in ISCA. Very well written with awesome presentation … comprehensive yet easy to understand... It explains all topics with examples, diagrams, memory codes (refer Study Material if you have sufficient time but not actually required). And at last, go through Practice manual for important questions.

Direct Taxes - T.N. Manoharan Plus Summary Module of Vinod Gupta (Prepare notes for lengthy and typical portion, if possible). Also check T G Suresh’s DT book it is very concise book (BEST for revision)  it can be completed easily.

Indirect Taxes – N S Govindan for Concepts (BEST) (Padhuka for past exam questions).

Regarding coaching, I would suggest you to take classes of FR, SFM , Costing, and IDT. Since you love theory you can easily prepare Audit, Law and Direct Tax through books, my suggestions would be to refer Surbhi Bansal, Munish Bhandari and Vinod Gupta for respective subjects. Referring to Institutes module for theory part is a big No, although you must cover Practice Manual and RTP, And moreover it will be dangerous to refer 2 books for concepts. Regarding ISCA, I would suggest you to go through the book early so as to know whether you are comfortable with the subject or not, so that you will have option to go to coaching if you face any difficulty. The time left with you is huge but you must start your preparation from today only, the time in the ultimate year passes very quickly
