Form 26AS shows repetitive entries

Hi...

Greetings ...

While filing for the 2010-2011 taxes, I found that the Form 26AS has entries for interests credited which are grossly incorrect - many are repetitive, and reflect adjacent dates like 27th mar, then same entry for 28th mar, etc. but thankfully the taxes on the same were not repetitively deducted. These figures do NOT match with the Interest Certificate as issued by the bank.

Is there an action that I need to take ? Inform some authority that the Bank is committing an error somewhere? Please advise.

Thanks in advance,

Gautam

visit the bank, they will listen and try to correct the same

sometimes multiple tries to file a single return makes nsdl also confussed, but at later stage and on requests of the e tds filer, ndsl rectifies the same

if the eror is there, that means its not only you but bank must have received hundreds of such complains, just visit and lodge yours also

file return with correct data, as 26 as may get restored at a later date.
