Form 26as facility withdrawn from income tax website

As we all know that Form 26AS is very necessary for the taxpayer as well as tax practitioners for E filing purposes. The scope of Form 26AS is widened to a great extent like Prepaid Taxes details, reported AIR Transactions etc.

But unfortunately from today the Facility to view FORM 26AS (Tax Credit) has been withdrawn from www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in.

Now there are only 2 ways to access Form 26AS of the Taxpayer:

Tax payer can now access this facility either with his Registered Login at TDSCPC website , which is a tedious process that requires either Tax deduction details or details of Tax paid or it can be viewed at Online Banking Accounts (few of the banks).

For further updation, you may aware that IFSC details are mandatory input in new ITR Forms instead for erstwhile MICR codes.

I am still able to view Form 26AS. Even earlier the site was redirecting us to tdscpc.gov.in.

So what is the issue? Nothing cubersome.

i agree with ca sonesh kabra... I was tired yesterday but not able to access 26as..

Yesterday some Maintenance Work was going in the the Income tax efiling websit, hence we were not able to view the 26 AS Statement. But now we can view the same...

yes, thats why I was unable to view Form 26AS yesterday through efiling website.

If Your Form 26AS is large and if you are getting message that you have to register at Traces to view it. Well, its quite a lot of heck of a thing.. First get your self register at Traces as Tax Payer Give details of a Tan and a deduction record for last one year where tds was deducted Next a confirmation mail will come to you for authentication, do it and try to log in. Be very careful coz you have got only 4 attempts to log in If log in jams come after one hour and reset your password under forgot password and then log in again. REMEMBER USER ID SHOUD BE IN CAPS as well as its ASSOCIATED TAN (in individual case it should be your Pan) Then after logging in go to request for form 26as and fill details of a deduction record and submit, after a while or in some cases few days your file will be available for download. Now this file is like *.txt, view it in Internet explorer..... Quite a heck Right !! Yes it is, but no option but to live under the law of the land.... Get in touch with me at noor8008 @ live.com
