17 April 2009As per Sec 206C of Income Tax Act, 1961, collections from Toll Plaza is subject to Tax Collection at Source. But the same has been omitted from Form 24C - TDS and TCS Compliance Statement.
Is anybody aware of this? Is this a new change to sec 206C? Or is there a mistake in the existing Form 24C?

from24c is to be filed for all head sec. wise details of tds paid qtrly statement to be filed instead of form-24Q & 26Q. Also This form also not contain the deductee wise breakup too.
Further annually we have to file the tds return vide form -24Q & 26Q as earlier including dedutee wise break up to for the whole year with in 15june for the every financial year as per new TDS complaince w.e.f. 1-4-09
But i donot now whether the same is implemented from 1-4-09 becuase this prov. also contain the epayment of TDs by very body earlier it was for cos. & those on which tax audit applicable. Further the form 281 is abolised by from 17 it is also contain the tds challan breakup with deductee name & pan details.
Pl. also let me know if any clarifications..

Hi Dipak,
Thanks for the response. But my question was with regard to omission of Toll plaza from Form 24C. If you are aware of this please let me know.
Other information with regard to 24C is already available with me.

Dear Rajesh Bhat!
As rightly pointed out by you, the term 'toll plaza' doesn't find place in the new FORM 24C. There is no change in the law but this omission appears to be glaring mistake which needs to be immediately rectified by the IT department.
