Form 16

Hi Friends,

This is regarding the form 16. I haven't got the TDS certificate from my employer however TDS paid amount is reflected in the Form 26 AS but in which no BSR code is mentioned. Won't it be required while filing the online return ? Is it so that I can't claim TDS without the physical certificate ? I am so worried because my previous employer not giving me the Certificate but says that Form 26 AS will do. Please help me

Thanks in advance !!!

Yes! You can survive without Form 16 and should go ahead on support of 26AS. BSR not required while e-filing Return.

But at the same time note that your employer (ex or present) was under obligation to issue you Form 16 by 31st May, 2012.  Send a written request by speed post to ex-employer for delivering you Form 16 so that you may have a point to argue that it was not delivered in spite of various verbal and written requests. Ultimately you must lodge a complaint to the income tax officer of area of your ex-employer as well as to your area.
