Go to the https://onlineservices.tin.egov-nsdl.com/etaxnew/tdsnontds.jsp
Select the challan number 280
Pay the tax of Rs 10 from any bank accounts
Save the challan details.
login to the income tax website on forgot password
select the option using OTP
after that select the OTP on new email id
after that enter the CIN details of the challan paid.
New password will generated on the new E-mail id.
There are two other ways of reseting password to the Incometax efiling website.
a) use AADHAR OTP TO RESET PASSWORD
b) use BANK ACCOUNT NUMBER TO RESET PASSWORD.
By using aaadhar, a PIN will be sent to your mobile number registereed in addhar database and it can be used to reset password to Income tax website.
In case of bank account number, once you select OTP, and provide account number, you r new password will be applicable after 12 hours. the account number has to be the one you enetered in any previous return of yours. That is why entering correct Bank account number is SO IMPORTANT.
You need not to pay 10 Rs. You can pay even one rupee for it. I have many time reset password by paying only one rupee.
