Foreign salary

Tax queries 617 views 3 replies

Hi Everyone.

I have one Non-Resident client who has returned from SIngapore on 04th Sept 2014. and will stay in India for the rest of the year. So, the residential status of my client is RNOR.
Now my question is that, he has recieved Salary from a Singapore company  in Singapore Currency for his services till 31st Aug. i.e. while he was in Singapore, and that Employer has deducted tax.
Is my client taxable in India, as he has not recoeved any money in Indian Rupees, though he has remitted the money after recieving the same in Singapore Dollars. It says like this, the salary was not directly deposited into his Indian Bank Account.

Whether his Singapore Salary be taxable in India. And if yes, will he get the credit of the tax paid by him in Singapore.

Dear Dhatrak,

If any part of salary not received in India by RNOR then it is not taxable in India. But, ensure whether any part of salary credited to his Indian bank account`s as a salary other than repatriated amount.

Can u give me any Section reference
