Foreign exchange gain/ loss on assets acquired in foreign cu

We have bought imported Fixed assets. What is the impact of Foreign Exchange gain/ Loss? is it adjusted with Carrying value or transfrred to Profit & Loss Account? Which standarad is applicable in this case?
