Food bill ITC

Can a company claim ITC on banquet bills raised by hotel against food consumption of 100 person at banquet hall??

If the purpose for such arrangements was business gathering or business meets, then yes company can claim the ITC

Know the reason why to claim or not . Under sec 17(5) of cgst act that is with regard to blocked credit where we are not eligible to take credit on these items. Sec says that food, beverages, outdoor catering, health and cosmotic services assesse is not eligible to claim credit as it involves food supplied by company to employees but if the same is for business purpose the it will be allowed and burden of proof is on the assesse.
