A Company may hold its first annual general meeting within 18 months from the date of its incorporation.
IN ABOVE CASE it need not hold any annual general meeting in the year of its incorporation as well as in the following year only.

If it is a public company then statutory meeting must be held after one month and before six month of incorporation in such a case no need to hold AGM in year 2000.
But if it is a private campany then 1st AGM should be held within 18 months i.e. in your case before 15.8.2001.
