Hi friends,
I passed final Group I under the old syllabus. I wrote group II under the old syllabus several times unsuccessfully. Is there a provision to write the Group II under the new syllabus?

Ya... u can trfr urself to new course. some formalities in institute to be completed.
but it is advisable to write under old syll itself as u ve to study extra portions , particularly MICS(now icsa).
so better go with old course,.. give a rocking performance in may 2010

Hi Sai...I understand how difficult it is to give the same Group a number of times. But I would suggest you not to change ur OLD scheme to New.You still have 2 attempts to give i.e., May and Nov 2010...work hard and be committed and give your best in May 2010...All The Best!!!!!!

Thanks for the replies Rekha and Renuka. It looks like it makes sense to pursue the known territory at this point. Will buy latest study material for MICS. For other subjects please suggest standard text books. We have under four months time and I need to squeeze in time between work, family and academics.
Also need tips on cracking MICS. I have poor "by-hearting" skills. The subject being vague does not create interest. Somebody please help!
Also would request somebody to help with a time-table for a full time working person assuming "away from home" time between 8 am to 8 pm

For Costing, u can go with institute material and padhukas book. For Direct tax T.N Manoharan is best. For Indirect tax yogendra bangar or vaitheswaran. For MICS , Study material is the best.
Prepare notes on ur own for mics. list out the paragraphs given in the study material as points in ur notebook.. give two or three times repeated revision so that u don forget the main points. remember as hints.
For ppl workin 8.00 to 8.00 , make it a habit that u do your studies early morning.. have theory sub morning.. and after returnin from off, take practical subjects..
ALL THE BEST!

Refer Dinesh Madan for MICS. Very lucid and simple language.
