final old course student will have to pay Rs. 1500 extra for May 11 exams

If you fill exam form online, then your Rs. 500 will be saved. Secondly, from institute, it is said that students are automatically transfered to new course. Those who wish to take study material, only they have to pay Rs. 1,100/-. So u have an option to save Rs. 1,600/-

Some sources have confirmed that it is compulsory and some are saying that no announcement has been made by ICAI that ,.it is Optional and they are saying that it is taken for cost of study material , they have not said  students not requiring new study material should not send it and lets see how many of you are going to fill the forms online.

Is conversion frm old course to new  optional? If we dont need study materials, is there no need 2 pay Rs.1100?

and the 500 fees is for examination form, which can be avoided by filing the examination form online

infact, inst. earlier decided not to accept the form in OMR format, but they make option this time also...

Answer:

Based on the information proviced by Hyderabad center, would like to make things Clear:

1. As per the notification of ICAI issued on 25 Jan'11 Old final course students will have to wait till ICAI come out with further announcement.
2. In spite of above, what is prevailing is that it is compulsory to switch from Old to New course.
3. For Conversion, the students of Old final course will have to submit course conversion form with Hand written application for conversion (No Fees/ Money)

HAND WRITTEN APPLICATION IF THEY DO NOT WANT TO HAVE NEW STUDY MODULE.

4.      If at the time of conversion you want to have study modules then Course conversion Form + Rs 1100/- for study material.

I do not understand why conversion form + hand written application. why dont they make switch automatically, hassle free. and study material one can buy as usual.

Yes, I agree with Deejey. What's d need 2 make application 4 conversion. Its obvious that every student frm old course now opts 4 new syllabus. it shud b automatic.

As there are many changes in CA final new modules, I am under the impression that we have to buy the new modules? 

I had converted to CA final new just in December, and got the study material, but they are all revised in Jan2011, I am looking to get the New revised set of modules with practice manuals.
