I am Sakthi, from Chennai. I've passed CA Final Group - I and till writing Group - II (for past 2 years im writing Group -2 alone). I dont know how to prepare and clear this group. I am following Paduka's book (Guru Kripa inst., chennai) for Costing, Direct Tax and for IDT im following Mr.Vaitheeswaran book & MICS Mr.Muralidharan book. For me MICS not a probs..but other 3 is very difficult. I dont know how to prepare..I should be a CA by this May 2010.Pl give me your suggestion..

In my case too..i couldn't clear the exam last 4 attmpts..can you tell me how to concentrate..i  am also working..

rember few imp. things about costing paper-

1. improve your Q.T(  speed and concept)

2. improve your theory costing and Q.T.(module and compiler)

3. few easy and imp. chapter -abc, pricing(module,compiler scanner),budget,relevant costing.learning curve.

4. BEST BOOKS-  SAXENA VASHISHT ,MODULE ,SCANNER, COMPILER.

5. Try to attempt atleast 85 marks paper.

6. dnt waste time in first reading of paper,try to solve small question first, try solve as fast as you can.

7. if you can do this i am sure you will score more than 50 marks. all the best . dnt forget to inform me about your result.

Dear Sir,

I have been writing Gr.2 in CA Final and failing since 4 attempts. I am working with Big MNC and studying. I am failing any 1 subject only all the time (either of 4 alternatively). I have only 3more months for May'2010 exams. I am not a full fledged student and I am married and struggling to complete CA.I asked everyone in my family to support me to clear CA this time. I need your suggestion, How can I help myself from failing, especially with costing. I am not able to balance the subjects in terms of pass. Please suggest me how can i balance between the subjects?

my marks are as follows:

in May 2008 CM=37 MICS=62 DT=51 IDT=59,

in Nov 2008 CM=45 MICS=62 DT=50 IDT=37,

in May 2009 CM=42 MICS=62 DT=31 IDT=50,

in Nov 2009 CM=25 MICS=62 (Exemption expired) DT=50 IDT=50.

Jitender is right.... Most of the students commit the mistake of attempting big questions first & ignoring theory... I will tell my story.... this time i wrote my 4th attempt.... In last 3 attempts i scoring less marks in costing... 40,30,40....(in all this i attempted big questions first & theory did not read) So, this time i studied theory. I was very confident with theory so wrote it first,,,, Then attempted small small qyestions... Then attempted big questions... I hardly attempted around 65 marks... & got 46 marks in costing.... I dont say it is a big achievement,,,, But scoring six marks more than earlier attempt has contributed a lot for clearing CA exams... I scored exactly 200 marks in second group... (I think now you will understand the value of 6 marks which i scored more than earlier attempt in costing)....

IS buying books for DT and IDT  every 6 months essential??

See i got books for Nov 09 exam & previous attempt too-For DT   Manoharan and IDT-VAideeswaran . ..Wasted Money like any thing investing on books 

And Nw i havent cleared It, Wat shd i do for MAy 2010 exams...We know For these 2 subjects changes do come....

Thing is that Institute material Supplementary for CAse laws and circulars Isnt relavent for the exams at stake....As far as amendments concerned is the Supplementary material enough?? 

How abt case laws that arent covered By Suplementary material...
