Extention of time is reqd because large parts of the country had frequent power cuts for long hours during working hours, increased work loads on CAs due to non -corporates having to file e returns for the first time along with the corporates,Also because this year last date was advanced by a month. The most important is that the general public was not aware of the advanced dates as the press advertisement appeared hardly a week before the due date. For these reasons alone strong ground exists for the extention atleast for this year. Also from the viewpoint of approaching general elections political expediency justifies extension.

Please Extend the Due Date for Filing the Income-tax Returns up to 31.10.2008 for this year due to Power Failure and Internet failures and also another ill luck is Banks Strike and the last date i.e.as per the I.T.Act,1961 is 30.09.2008 is non banking day, on that day the Net banking is not functioning well and not connected in this connection please extend one month time for e-filing holders without penalties13
