Export warehousing

Our company is located in DTA and have supplies to many customers out of which some of them located in SEZ. Since supplying to SEZ is nothing but export, we do import the raw materials to produce finished goods of such supplies through advance license scheme to availe the duty benefit.

Since we are facing many problems in SEZ customs in filing Bill of Export for each and every supplier to SEZ customers. (ie, Customs officer of a SEZ customs saying that Bill of export to be files by Supplier/His Authorized agent in person for each & every supply as per rule).

We were thinking that to supply the same products to such customers directly from our foreight counter part. But if we do so, sales will not be counted in our India A/c. But there is a passiblity to do trading activity to get such sales in our A/c.

Since we are in DTA registered as manufacturers we cannot do the trading activity in our plant. But we can get the separate registration as Dealor/Warehouse to do trading activity.

If there is possiblity for having separate duty free warehouse. please confirm the procedure.

Many thanks in advance.

Since you are registered under Manufacutring license, you can do trading activity also. For that you should keep reigster for trading goods. There is no separate requirement of getting trading registration. Manufacturer can also do trading activity. There is no such restriction under Current Central Excise Rules 2002.
