Export through Courier.

 Hi,

I wanted to clarify few doubts regarding export through courier.

In my case the value of export goods will always be less than INR 20,000. The items to be exported are toys, book, glassware, etc. I am in touch with few courier companipes already. I do not intend to claim any drawback on the export of goods.

The courier company is advising me that I can export the goods through them by some way they call courier on board export. I just need to provide them with Shipping Invoice & Commercial Invoice. Since the value of the goods is always less than INR 20,000 no SDF/GR form is required. But they will not be able to give me any post shipping documents except AirWay Bill.

I just wanted to double check if the above method is correct. Will a AWB bill only serve all the purpose of evidence of export in future.

If someone an share info it would be great.

Thanks in advance,

Sujit Kumar

The export procedure suggested is perfectly alright.

The only problem in export by post/courier is that you will not get any export benefit. It appears that you are not interested in that.

Regarding proof of export, you may need for Income Tax purposes, the airway bill, your invoice in the name of foreign buyer and foreign exchange receipt in your bank account will suffice.

mr.sujit

i think sending by courier would cost u lot, is it a sample to somebody ?

u should have enquiried by any C & F agent, that would be less costlier than the courier.

aacording to me, if u export through post authority, u/s. 81-82 of Custome Act, 1962 relates to export & can claim benefits. Pls correct me if i m wrong.

Dear Rajesh,

There is a clause under Courier Imports and Exports (Clearance) Regulations, 1998 which says exports shall not be allowed where the value of the consignment is above rupees twentyfive thousand and transaction in foreign exchange is involved.

Can you clarify in light of the above?

Hi I want to know whether one can export  precious and semi-precious stones value less than Rs. 20000/-  through courier or Indian post without any AWB or bill of entry ,  number of exports is more than 50 every day to different parties.
