14 April 2012Is there any restriction on the no. of houses owned by the assesse to claim exemption under section 54. For example
Ram has 3 houses which are chargeable under income from house property.He sold one house and purchased other with the proceeds of the same. Can he claim exemption under Section 54.

There is no restriction U/s54 like 54F , He can claim the Exemption under section 54.
