Is a 100% exporter liable to service tax on rent paid on area used as office for providing export services? Or is there an exemption in this regard?

service tax is applicable
if the tenent ( exporter) wish to avail any special exemption, he may visit the commissioner of service tax and ask him specifically to issue exemption order to avail.

No service tax should be charged against such rent payment |
Are you sure? Because I did not find any clause in thehead 'Renting of immovable property'..
@ U.S. Sharma: Is there any form for asking for special exemption or do we just have to verbally speak to the Commissioner of Service Tax?

if you feel that you are eligible to get service tax free rental ...........get in touch with ST commissioner and ask him to issue exemption ..........you have to produce documents in support of your pleading,
however you are eligible for refund of st, in case of export.
