Exemption for Less than 20 Lakh Turnover

There are news reports all over the Internet from mainstream newspapers that govt has decided to extend 20 Lakh exemption limit to e-commerce sellers as well. Could somebody please Confirm. Is it temporary waiver or permanent? I read this in TOI, DNA and The Hind?

The provision is like that any dealer sells product through e-commerce, can't opt composition scheme.

I know that. I am asking about exemption from GST registration. Earlier online sellers had to register for GST even for Rs 1 sale. However I read it recently that govt is also allowing online sellers with turnover of less than 20 Lakhs to not register for GST.
