Branded items are always treated as not admissible for any exemption under SSI, budget 2011 just withdrawn the benefit to garments industries, balance all provisions and rules are old for branded goods, where the manufacturer has to clear branded goods at full rate of duty.

Thanks Mr Sharma.
My question is What Is the actual Meaning BRANDED? Is it Like Liberty, Bata etc ?
Our Firm is manufacturing Shawls which does not comprise any Brand name on it.
& our yearly turnover is approx 2 Cr.
& our Final Product is sold in simple packing ( like transparent cover).
Whether the new provisions of Budget 2011 are applicable in our Case.?
Thanks
Vishal

"branded" means the goods manufactured by an manufactuing unit, under a brand name which does not own to him. i.e the goods belong to the brand owner, and such manufacture is deemed to be added to that "branded manufacturer" where duty is leviable from zero for the manufacturer.

SSI unit manufacturing goods with other’s brand name not eligible for exemption |
Goods manufactured by an SSI unit with brand name of others are not eligible for SSI concession, unless goods are manufactured in a rural area. However, SSI exemption will be available to packing material even if it bears brand name of other person. |
