HELLO,

WHAT IS THE APPLICABILITY OF EPF??

SPECIFICALLY HAS THE NUMBER OF EMPLOYEES LIMIT DECREASED TO 10??

PLS STATE THE APPLICABILITY LIST

Replies (5)

(a) to every establishment which is a factory engaged in any industry specified in Schedule I and in which twenty or more persons are employed and

(b) to any other establishment employing twenty or more persons or class of such establishments which the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, specify, in this behalf

If you are already registered under EPF, then act continues to apply even if no of employees dcreased below 20.

CAN U LET ME KNOW THAT FOR A SERVICE INDUSTRY PRIVATE COMPANY WHAT ALL DOCUMENTS/REGISTER SHOULD BE KEPT FROM THE VIEWPOINT OF SERVICE INDUSTRY??

The employer must maintain a book/register of wages and an EPF record showing the employee's particulars as listed below for not less than six years from the date his/her particulars were recorded last [Section 42 of the EPF Act 1991].

Details which must be recorded in the  Book/Register of Wages:

  1. Full name of employee;
  2. EPF membership number;
  3. Sex;
  4. Date of birth;
  5. Identification card/passport number;
  6. Citizenship of employee;
  7. Home Address;
  8. Post/Positions;
  9. Date of commencement of employment;
  10. Mode of payment of wages (example: daily/weekly/monthly);
  11. Wages for the respective period;
  12. Other payments for the period;
  13. Amount deducted for EPF contribution;
  14. Amount contributed by employer for EPF Contribution.
