09 March 2009there is a unit where three floors are registered as EOU (i.e Ground, 1st and 2nd).
3 rd floor is a Domestic Unit engaged in both domestic and export of services.
Both units are of same company.
Both the units have separate setups with different employees and books of account.
Registration with service tax is in respect to whole building.
Query: 1) Should both DTA and EOU have seprate registrations under service tax ?

Also please advice whether a company can adjust the refund calculated in EOU with the tax liability of DTA units of the same company?

Ideally both the premises should have separate service tax registration.
Otherwise, the company can get registered as input service distributor, pay service tax with respect to both the units and distribute the service tax credit between the units.
