Great suggestions given by other members.
I know one friend who came from rural Andhra after his 12th & went on to do Masters in English & German from EFLU. Bloody he speaks in public so confidently now.
My suggestion would be to surround yourself with English speaking friends who don't easily switch over to the vernacular. Other option is to respond ONLY in English so that your friends are forced to speak in English with you.
Next as Harshavardhan has said watch English movies first without subtitles & later with subtitles. You can compare this way your understanding!
Lastly do not use SMS language.
Remember it is not going to be easy at the start but hey, if it was easy everyone would have done it!

I believe this "shubham agrahari" does not have good looks but is defitenely should be good in english communication.
