Can en employer check the account statement (Salary Account) of the employee and ask for transaction made by the account holder?

The question is not clear.
Assumably it must be the salary account of the Employee opened&maintained as per the stipulation of the Employer,since normally the Employer would have understanding with a particular bank.
So assuming the relation-ship of Employer/Employee ceases the movement account is opened by the Employee and the SB A/C no is alloted.
The normal Banking laws on Bank/Customer would operate and the rule of confidentiality of the banker applies and Employer has no right and no say except crediting the salary amount.The account details are to be disclosed by bank only to the customer and no one else except under the directions of competent court.
